Eric Braeden, soap opera star, loses Pacific Palisades home of 45 years to LA wildfires. “I’m devastated, man. I’m devastated. All the memories”

Eric Braeden is telling all about losing his home of 45 years.

The “Young and the Restless” star’s heartbreak was chronicled during a recent “Entertainment Tonight” segment as the LA wildfires continue to decimate large swaths of the country’s second largest city.

Braeden, 83, told “ET” co-host Kevin Frazier he left “just in time.”

“Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy, he said during a tour of the rubble that was once his home. “It’s all burnt down man, look at that.”

Braeden candidly opened up to Frazier about his emotions after the PalisadesFire destroyed his family home.

“I didn’t think it would hit me this much, man,” Braeden told Frazier. He added that he only took some prized possessions before the blaze took his home in the formerly picturesque Pacific Palisades neighborhood.

“I’m devastated, man. I’m devastated. All the memories. I don’t want my family to see this,” Braeden said. “Boy, obviously you’ve seen a lot of coverage on television over the last few days, and I never imagined this. I didn’t imagine this.”

He explained to Frazier that his family had nearly five decades of memories including hosting parties with 250 people, saying “you know when you watch TV, and you see all of these news coverages of these people losing their homes? I understand now.”

Braeden’s home was destroyed in the Palisades Fire, which sprang up on Tuesday and has burned more than 21,000 acres, became the most destructive in Los Angeles history. It was 11% contained as of Saturday morning.

Winds have fanned wildfires into destructive infernos across Los Angeles, killing at least 11. More than 153,000 Los Angeles County residents are under active evacuation orders and 57,000 structures are at risk, Sheriff Robert Luna said at a news conference Saturday. Another over 166,000 are under evacuation warnings, meaning they should be prepared to leave their homes. Celebrities, including Braeden, are among those who have lost homes.
