One Direction fans have revealed how they are calling in sick for work following the death of Liam Payne.
The singer tragically fell from the third-floor balcony of the Casa Sur Hotel in Buenos Aires yesterday, plunging into the courtyard before medics later confirmed his death.
When the shock news broke, fans flocked to the scene to lay candles and flowers in tribute as others shared touching messages online.
Now, fans of the boy band have revealed how they need ‘a bereavement day’ to process the news as they are not fit to work in their ‘mental state’.
One person wrote on X: ‘Sorry work, I can’t come in today.. I require a bereavement day to mourn the loss of @LiamPayne.’

Another added: ‘My mental state is not gonna be any better tomorrow than it is tonight I really don’t want to work tomorrow at all.’

A fourth also shared: ‘My boss is a real one asking if I needed to go home after finding out about Liam Payne.’

A young woman staying in the same hotel said she was told by the former One Direction singer: ‘I used to be in a boy band – that’s why I’m so f**ked up’.
Rebecca, not her real name, a 28-year-old IT consultant from Washington DC, took haunting photographs of Payne in the lobby shortly before his death.
She said his bizarre behaviour and its horrific aftermath had left her ‘shaken’.
Liam’s heartbroken mother has also since told her friends ‘I’ve lost my beautiful boy’ after her son’s death.
