Accordingly, in a letter sent to a Manhattan Federal Court judge, Diddy ‘s legal team argued that his client needed to know the names of the alleged victims in order to be fully prepared for the trial on May 5, 2025.
“This case is unique,” the letter said. They said that among those who filed appeals, there would inevitably be people accusing their client because he was a famous, influential and wealthy person. Combined with the information being released in a systematic conspiracy, this has led to a series of accusations from unidentified complainants, ranging from false to completely absurd.
The move appears to be a reference to a lawsuit filed on November 16, 2023, by Combs’ ex-girlfriend, singer Cassie Ventura, accusing the rapper of physical abuse and sex trafficking. Although the lawsuit was settled the following day, it sparked a wave of legal action against Combs from women and men who had suffered similar sexual abuse.
In the letter, Combs’ attorneys also noted six additional sexual misconduct lawsuits filed on Monday by anonymous whistleblowers. “The whistleblower’s attorney recently held a press conference in which he claimed to represent 120 clients and made outrageous and deeply damaging allegations…” they wrote.
The attorneys continued: “These judgments come on the heels of more than a dozen previously filed and pending lawsuits, some of which have been proven to be defamatory but which have undeniably caused harm to our client’s character and reputation. They have created a hysterical ‘media farce’ and, if left unchecked, will deprive Mr. Combs of the right to a fair trial that would otherwise have occurred.”
Combs, who was arrested in Manhattan on September 16 by the Department of Homeland Security, faces federal criminal charges of trafficking in sensitive material and extortion. He is currently being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York.
On October 16, Diddy (Sean Combs)’s Instagram account was suddenly updated with a new status. The post had nothing to do with the legal troubles the tycoon is facing, instead focusing on his youngest daughter, Love.
The status line used lyrics from the familiar song Happy Birthday to you to congratulate baby Love on her 2nd birthday, along with pictures of the father and daughter. According to Daily Mail, Love is Diddy’s daughter with his ex-girlfriend, Dana Tran, and is also the youngest of the hip hop mogul’s 7 children.
“Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday baby Love! Happy Birthday to you. Happy Birthday Love Sean Combs, I love you!”, wrote Diddy.
What makes netizens wonder is that Diddy is being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York, USA, how can he access the Internet. Many people suspect that the rapper born in 1969 receives special treatment in prison. In addition, there are opinions that the star’s social media accounts are often managed by assistants or close relatives and posted on his behalf important information as well as special occasions.
Viewers commented: “He’s still on social media even though he should have been deprived of his freedom”, “He has internet in prison. It’s a kind of hotel”, “For those who don’t know. Prisoners are allowed to use tablets to call out. Prisons these days seem more like boarding schools for troublemakers. There’s no punishment anymore. This system is a joke”, “I think his personal assistant or the person in charge of his social media accounts is the one who posted this message”, “He’s not the one who posted it”, “Even if he posted it through his henchmen, he shouldn’t have done it”, “It’s probably a PR stunt by his team to imply that he’s a good man who loves his children”…
